Mexico administers over 788,000 Covid-19 vaccines in a day

(Prensa Latina) Mexico has administered more than 788,000 Covid-19 vaccines in a day, as part of the National Vaccination Strategy, for a total of 173,826,545 doses, the Secretariat of Health reported on Thursday.

It added that 19.7 million people have already received a booster shot and 84,782,507 have been vaccinated. Of that total, more than 78 million, 93 percent, have received the complete vaccination scheme against Covid-19 and 6,254,000, seven percent, have received a first dose.

The Secretariat of Health also reports that, regarding the behavior of the epidemic, the Daily Technical Report records 46 percent fewer estimated cases compared to the previous period.

By age, the health institution reports that 80,171,000 people aged 18 and older have received at least one dose, as well as 4,611,000 adolescents between 14 and 17 years of age, accounting for a progress of 52 percent in this population group.

It reiterates the need to maintain basic prevention measures, such as healthy distancing, frequent hand washing with soap and water or use hand sanitizer with alcohol, wear facemasks correctly, ventilate confined spaces and take precautions in public spaces.
