(Prensa Latina) Egyptian Minister of Agriculture El-Quseir and his Uruguayan counterpart Fernando Mattos discussed about cooperation between the two countries in the sector, an official source reported on Wednesday.
During a meeting held in Cairo, El-Quseir stressed that the relations between the two countries are historic and deep, an official communique stated.
He said there is a strong desire to increase the agricultural exchange as part of a strategy to enhance the trade and economic ties.
The two sides discussed cooperation in the field of soybean seed production, as well as the possibility that the Egyptian private sector establishes research and investment farms for the animal production in Uruguay.
At the end of the meeting, the two ministers agreed to sign a framework cooperation agreement and hold a meeting between businessmen and investors in Egypt and Uruguay to determine areas of work and exchange visits.
