Around 3,000 doctors who work in a pandemic still do not have an appointment in Ecuador

Verónica Chávez, a doctor at the San Francisco Hospital of the IESS, indicated that the Ecuadorian authorities offered them support and appointments, but they have not complied.

Chávez pointed out that the Ministry of Public Health (MSP) said that the appointments offered were given, but there are 3,000 doctors who worked in the pandemic, who meet the established requirements, who were called to the competition, and do not have their appointment.

The doctor said that appointments were given to people who were not in contact with patients infected with the virus. For this reason, they ask the MSP to fulfill their offer: give the appointment to the doctors who worked on the front line in the most difficult moments of the pandemic.

Chávez pointed out that there are doctors who continue to work on the front line, without receiving an appointment. In addition, she indicated that they have had an approach with Minister Garzón, who offered to review the processes and see the state in which they are.
