Iran welcomes development of relations with Japan

(Prensa Latina) Iranian President Sayyid Ebrahim Raisi welcomed Japan’s expression of interest and desire to strengthen the level of the bilateral relations and cooperation, according to reports.

“Tehran and Tokyo can play an effective role in creating and promoting peace and stability in the region and the world by strengthening cooperation,” Raisi said.

The Iranian president’s remarks were published on the official website of the presidency following a telephone conversation he held with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on Wednesday evening.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to promote the level of its relations and cooperation with other countries, included Japan, for mutual benefit, Raisi stressed, referring to Iran’s willingness to maintain ties with the rest of the world.

The Iranian president said that the US Government’s adherence to the failed policies of the previous administration is the main obstacle to the acceptable progress of his country’s negotiations with other states, such as Japan.
