(Prensa Latina) The Vice Minister of Communication of the Ministry of the Presidency Gabriela Alcón confirmed that the Commission for the Review of Cases of Rape and Femicide, created by order of President Luis Arce, will meet today in Bolivia.
“We will hold the first meeting of the Commission. As authorities, we must work together and leave aside political stands and opinions that do not contribute,” wrote on Twitter the also journalist and social communicator.
Alcón affirmed in another message that the duty of this team is to provide structural solutions to the actions of judges and justice providers who benefited murderers and rapists, and accompanied the text with the hashtag #EsAhora.
The Minister of the Presidency, María Nela Prada, informed this week that, by Arce’s instructions, the Commission was constituted in view of the worrying social concern created by the behavior of justice personnel, evidenced in the case of the serial rapist and feminicide Ríchard Choque.
She described that this team is integrated by these three portfolios, the president of the Chamber of Senators, Andrónico Rodríguez, and the head of the Chamber of Deputies, Freddy Mamani.
“This is a State issue,” the minister stressed, “that is how our President defined it, so we are going to provide structural solutions, which is what Bolivian families expect”.
