Bolsonaro under treatment, surgery ruled out

 (Prensa Latina) Doctor Antônio Macedo confirmed today that Brazil’s President Jair Bolsonaro, admitted because of an intestinal obstruction, reacts well to medication and ruled out the need for a surgical procedure.

“The obstruction in the intestine was cleared and, for the moment, surgery has been ruled out” explained the specialist, who decided to continue with the clinical treatment, said a bulletin of the Vila Nova Star hospital, in São Paulo, where the president is hospitalized.

Bolsonaro was hospitalized the day before for the referred diagnosis, according to Macedo’s indications, and began to receive antibiotics and tube feeding and hydration to recover intestinal functions.

The specialist was one of the professionals who operated on the president after the knife attack in 2018, and since then has been in charge of watching over his health.
