Since the beginning of the pandemic, March 2020, there were already problems in the continuous delivery of medicines, but in the last three months they give us not a single pill, said María Dolores Páez, a patient with pulmonary hypertension.

“We have lost many lives. The moment we stop taking the drugs, our life ends, ”criticized Páez.

Patricio Baca has chronic myeloid leukemia. Everything gained 10 years ago, when he was detected with the disease, has been lost in the last six months due to lack of medication. Today, he must take chemotherapy sessions again, but there are no supplies.

The authorities have told them that they will start the processes soon, to wait. But some patients died while waiting for the drug, and others fear the same fate.

The protest was also attended by parents who have had to pay for their children’s treatments because the State cannot guarantee their right to health.
