Paraguay to maintain anti-Covid-19 measures until December

Asuncion, Nov 30 (Prensa Latina) The president of Paraguay, Mario Abdo Benitez, signed a decree that establishes to maintain the sanitary measures to face Covid-19 until December 10, local media reported today.

In this context, the authorities remind the compulsory use of masks in enclosed places, on public roads and transport and in places where adequate physical distance cannot be maintained, quoted Agencia de Informacion Paraguaya.

According to data disclosed by the Health Ministry, since March 2020 to date, 463 000 people have been infected with SARS-CoV-2 and 16 469 deaths due to Covid-19 have been recorded in this country.

From Monday, the Government restricted the entry of travelers from South Africa and other African countries to Paraguay due to the appearance of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus, informed the general director of Migration, Angeles Arriola.

Paraguayans or foreigners living in this country who wish to enter the national territory must comply with a 10-day isolation period and on the fifth day of entry they will undergo a PCR test in addition to the one they underwent for the trip, explained the directive.
