Ecuador and Colombia will reopen their border

Vaccination certificate or PCR test will be the requirements for entering the country through the border with Colombia

Ecuador and Colombia will reopen their land border on December 1. This was closed since March 2020 due to the pandemic. People who want to enter the country must present the certificate of vaccination against Covid-19 or a PCR test.

The Minister of Health, Ximena Garzón, explained that the vaccination certificate must include the application of the two doses of the coronavirus vaccines.

Those who do not have a certificate or have not been vaccinated must present a negative PCR test to enter the country. Garzón clarified that these requirements will be requested in order to avoid an epidemiological outbreak of coronavirus.

She also reported that vaccination brigades will be installed on the border to guarantee the inoculation of the border population.

In the event of an upturn in cases in border populations, the minister anticipated that a comprehensive pandemic control plan will be deployed to control these possible outbreaks.
