In Ecuador 49 violent deaths were registered in five days of holiday

The National Police announced that 49 violent deaths were registered nationwide during the last holiday, despite the state of exception that prevails in at least seven provinces.

In Guayaquil, Durán and Samborondón, which comprise Zone 8, several cases were reported on these holidays, especially in the south of Guayaquil.

In central Guasmo, a man in his 30s was shot when he was riding a motorcycle along with another subject on Adolfo H. Simmons Avenue.

The murder was reported on the afternoon of Wednesday, November 3, in the presence of several witnesses, who saw how he was shot from a motorcycle.

Paúl Salazar, Chief of Southern District Operations, indicated that one of them was shot twice and, despite being transferred to a nearby hospital, bled to death. The other was injured in the leg.

On Tuesday, in the southern Guasmo, another man was killed while talking on the phone outside his house, in the Cristal cooperative.

Only in the South district there are already more than 120 violent deaths this year. There are 549 in Zone 8.
