European Union lifted restrictions for Argentine travelers

Buenos Aires, Oct 29 (Prensa Latina) From today, the European Union (EU) included Argentina in the list of countries having their travel restrictions lifted, formerly enforced in the context of Covid-19.

According to a note from the Foreign Ministry, from Friday, taking into account the improvement of the epidemiological situation in Argentina, the decision to add the nation to Annex I of the Recommendation Council 2020/912 comes into effect, according to which EU member states agreed on a common approach to travel to the continent.

Argentinians and residents may enter Europe, having only to comply with health-related measures, such as tests and quarantines, determined by competent national authorities of the country to which they travel, the statement said.

Likewise, the Foreign Ministry underlined that this is possible after adding Argentina to the list of third countries, for which the Bloc’s travel restrictions should be gradually lifted in the context of the pandemic.

‘This list, which is reviewed from time to time, accounts for our nation’s compliance with a series of criteria determined by the EU and related to the favorable and sustained evolution of the epidemiological situation, the management of the pandemic, the progress in vaccination and reciprocity’, the text read.
