Santo Domingo, Oct 21 (Prensa Latina) New measures taken by the Dominican Government have increased the number of vaccinated persons. Ministry of Public Health Daniel Rivera informed that in the last few days, an average of 118,000 people have been immunized every day with the first, second and third doses of vaccines.
He added that after the entry into force of the new measures on immunization, the increase in vaccination centers are remarkable and this will allow reaching the goal of 70 percent of fully vaccinated people.
‘By reaching this percentage and maintaining measures such as the use of facemasks, hand washing and distancing, Covid-19 indicators will be drastically reduced, so we ask for people’s cooperation,’ the minister noted.
So far, 95 percent of patients in intensive care units have not been vaccinated, said Rivera, who expressed his gratitude to the population for joining the campaigns and responding as expected to vaccination, as the government’s interest is to protect people from this deadly disease.
