Alexandra Vela, Minister of Government, assured that the marches announced for Tuesday, October 26, are a political expression of a sector of the population and therefore actions that are peaceful will be respected, however she warned that if this escalates to violent acts or Road closures, the State will respond with the progressive use of force and later these people will be placed under the national justice system.
“If there are acts of violence or of a criminal nature, such as blocking roads, impeding traffic, then the roads will be cleared.”
She remarked that the road block is a crime, as well as the paralysis of public services, hence she, said the public force will respond to restore the normal flow of traffic.
“If they arrive peacefully there will be no problem, the moment any infiltrator provokes acts of violence the State will respond with the law of the hand.”
As on other occasions, Vela pointed out that there are certain positions of a political nature where there is a decision to lead the country to issues of violence and cause chaos, which, she said, the Government will not allow.
She pointed out that the country is experiencing a complex situation as a consequence of different positions, in some cases almost recalcitrant, which is reflected not only in the institutions such as the National Assembly but also in the different social organizations:
“The work becomes more complex and these dialogues are going to walk two steps forward – one back, until they find points of balance.”
She referred to the indigenous justice that will be applied to those who attended the dialogue with the Government on October 21 and pointed out that the president of Conaie, Leonidas Iza, is having the same attitude that former president Rafael Correa had in his time with the mestizos.
She affirmed that the regime responds to the interest of all Ecuadorians in the face of the reality with which it inherited the economy and that shows the failure of the last 14 years: “Now the fundamental thing for the country is economic reactivation, continue vaccination, obtain the opening of 2 million jobs during the next year, achieving that institutions are reconstituted and solutions are found with the problems that have to do with areas of economic substitution, in addition to security ”.
In addition, she explained that the Executive has a plan ready to deliver 30-year loans with 1% interest, so this will most likely be activated in December of this year. She also pointed out that the forgiveness of debts of less than a thousand dollars is in process, once the members of the Monetary and Financial Boards have been elected.
