The Union for Hope (UNES) bench released new information regarding the ‘Pandora Papers’, which would show that President Guillermo Lasso had lied to be a candidate for the Presidency.
Legislator Mónica Palacios returned from Panama with official information about the Ecuadorian President’s offshore network.
At a press conference, he said that, in 2020, Guillermo Lasso transferred his shares in the PietroOverseas company to his children, in a new offshore company called Banisi Internacional Fundación, which occurred on September 10, 2020, but this resolution was registered on Monday, October 19, 2020 in the Official Gazette of Panama.
According to Panamanian Law, once it is published in the Official Gazette, the resolution enters into force.
“This means that Lasso, a month before, registered his candidacy to be President of Ecuador and was violating the ethical pact of the popular consultation because he still owned PietroOverseas,” he explained.
The assembly member will present all this documentation, which is notarized and apostilled, to the Constitutional Guarantees Commission investigating this case.
In addition, he toured the President’s offshore companies since 2007.
