Today is the deadline for the Government to inform the IACHR about precautionary measures to Jorge Glas.

A meeting between representatives of the State and former vice president has not yet been finalized.

On December 31, 2019, the IACHR gave the Ecuadorian government a deadline to respond to the precautionary measures provided for the former Vice President of the Republic, Jorge Glas, until today.

Last week, representatives of the state institutions involved in the issue met to record Jorge Glas’s situation in the Latacunga prison.

Secretary of Human Rights, Cecilia Chacón, said that the precautionary measures to be applied in prison. Glas representatives ask for the transfer of Latacunga to Jail 4, in Quito, from 2019.
