Death toll rises to 170 in Kabul’s blasts

(Prensa Latina) The death toll from the triple bombing that occurred on Thursday in Kabul rose to 170, Afghanistan’s Ministry of Health uncovered on Friday. The ministry added that at least 200 people were injured in the attacks.

Three blasts occurred on Thursday near the Kabul airport, where thousands of Afghans remain in the hope of leaving the country.

The Afghan branch of the ISIS terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Meanwhile, the Taliban movement noted that the Kabul airport area is out of its control so it is not responsible for the explosions, and refused to extend the deadlines for the withdrawal of foreign troops, scheduled to be completed by August 31.

In the days since the insurgents arrived in Kabul on August 15, the United States and its allies have already evacuated 100,000 people from Afghanistan.
