(Prensa Latina) Taliban movement deputy Mullah Baradar Akhund said today that the real test of government begins now for that force, as they must help the people and improve their standard of living.
Baradar congratulated on the victory the whole Afghan nation, especially the people of Kabul and the mujahideen fighters, adding that the Taliban will work to serve the whole nation, Ariana news agency reported on Monday.
According to this leader of the armed group, the war in Afghanistan ended when he occupied the presidential palace in this capital.
The Taliban took little more than a week to take control of the country after the Afghan armed forces, trained and equipped by the United States and others, were defeated throughout the country.
President Ashraf Ghani fled the country Sunday as he entered the city, saying he wanted to avoid bloodshed, as hundreds of Afghans flooded Kabul airport in their desire to leave the country.
