2,319 educational institutions in Ecuador were authorized to return to blended classes until August 5. Of that number currently 811 schools (158 urban and 653 rural) are in class under this modality on the Coast, due to the fact that in the Sierra-Amazonía regime 1,508 authorized establishments remain on vacation.
The authorities hope that until September more authorized educational establishments will be added to the list.
The Ministry of Education indicated that of the total of approved educational centers in zone 8 (Guayaquil, Durán and Samborondón) there are so far 72 schools that have semi-presential days (60 individuals and 12 prosecutors).
The State Portfolio works to reopen the doors of rural schools, because it is there where the most problems are registered due to the lack of connectivity since the pandemic began.
In the Sierra-Amazonía region, the 2021-2022 school year will begin in September and until August 22, the registration and ordinary enrollment phase will take place.
The process is carried out through the page https://juntos.educacion.gob.ec/ which can be accessed at any time.
For people who do not have an Internet connection, the Ministry of Education made telephone operators available for each educational district, in order to provide support in the process.
