Minister of Telecommunications and Information Society, Andres Michelena announced that the Government is working on a plan to unify the appointment system in the public health system.
He said that the program will use the databases of the Ministry of Public Health, Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion, and the Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security.
This system will allow the generation of new health treatment strategies because preventive medicine could be applied, according to Michelena.
With this plan, he explained that the health system will save US$ 300 million dollars because telemedicine would even be promoted, and there would even be the possibility of a doctor going to the patient’s home if necessary.
