After the National Jury of Elections of Peru (JNE), proclaimed Pedro Castillo as the new President of this country, the Ecuadorian President, Guillermo Lasso, congratulated him on the victory he obtained six weeks ago, but that this was just made official. July 19.
With 100% of the minutes scrutinized, Pedro Castillo obtained 50.12% of the votes, compared to 49.87% for his rival, Keiko Fujimori.
In this sense, Lasso congratulated him and assured that he hopes to strengthen relations between Ecuador and Peru with openness, cooperation and dialogue.
In the region, Bolivia has also welcomed Castillo and underlined the “triumph of democracy.” In the same way, he wished him success in managing him at the head of the country.
Jorge Arreaza, Foreign Minister of Venezuela, indicated that his country celebrates the success of the historic electoral day of June 6 in the Republic of Peru.
The Vice President of Argentina, Cristina Fernández, also welcomed Castillo’s triumph and extended her congratulations.
