Mexico reports 13 thousand cases of Covid-19 in 24 hours

 (Prensa Latina) Mexico reported in the last 24 hours almost 13,000 new patients with covid-19, confirming a galloping rise in the epidemic curve for a month, the Ministry of Health reported today.

In the morning update, the ministry notes that estimated cases grew by 27 percent for epidemiological week 26 (June 27 to July 3) compared to the period from June 20 to 26, which means an increase of two percent compared to those reported yesterday.

In turn, according to the technical report, the estimated active cases rose to 75 thousand 870, that is, five thousand 738 more than those reported in the previous update.

As for those confirmed, the rise in infections continues, with 12,821, for a total of 2,629,648. Deaths increased by 233, for a total 235,740. People recovered from Covid-19 , are 2 million 68,175.

The trend in hospital occupancy also continues to increase. Demand for general beds increased by one percent, reaching a 28 percent occupancy rate in the country.

Beds with a ventilator, for critical patients, also rose one percent to 22 percent occupancy nationwide.

In update of the National Vaccination Strategy, the Ministry of Health reported 698 thousand 554 people vaccinated until yesterday, for a total of 52 million 704 thousand 960 doses administered.

It adds that from 36 million 789 thousand 100 people who have received at least one dose of the anti-Covid-19 antigen, 59 percent, that is, 21 million 274 thousand 238 have completed the scheme, and 15 million 514 thousand 862 have received their first dose.
