First doses of Russian Sputnik V vaccine will arrive in the country in September

Russia will send the first shipment of the Sputnik V vaccine to Ecuador in September according to the Russian ambassador to our country, Vladimir Sprinchan.

In an interview, the diplomat indicated that the first doses of the sputnik vaccine will arrive in September.

On May 14, the National Agency for Health Regulation, Control and Surveillance (Arcsa) authorized the importation of the Sputnik V vaccine to face the pandemic generated by Covid-19.

After that date, the Government of Guillermo Lasso has established approaches for the acquisition of this vaccine.

In September 2020, the Ministry of Health planned to bring about 8 million doses.

The Sputnik V vaccine is developed by the Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Infectology of Russia, and was the first registered coronavirus vaccine in the world.

Latin American countries such as Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, and Paraguay already use it in their inoculation process to the population.
