(Prensa Latina) Italy’s unemployment rate fell from 10.6 percent in April 2021 to 10.5 in May, the National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT) informed on Thursday.
In the same period, the source stated, youth unemployment also decreased from 32.8 percent to 31.7 percent and the proportion of inactive persons declined from 36.01 percent to 36 percent.
Despite the improvement registered in those indicators, ISTAT informed that the number of people in work still represents 700,000 less than those existing in February 2020, prior to the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.
