(Prensa Latina) Chilean government on Monday presented a $2 billion fund to strengthen the national health network and fight the Covid-19 pandemic.
President Sebastián Piñera said that this figure will be useful to purchase more protection supplies for health staffers and the rest of Chilean people and to implement a rehab plan for Covid-19 patients.
This so-called Extraordinary Health Fund is also aimed to increase testing, traceability and isolation (TTA) strategy of positive cases, and the resources available to the Public Health Institute (ISP) for detecting new variants.
Part of this fund will go to purchase much more Covid-19 vaccine doses and guarantee availability of doses for 2021 and 2022, as well as to strengthen the mental healthcare capacity through the ongoing SaludableMente program.
