New batch with 108,000 doses of Pfizer will arrive in Ecuador

A new shipment with 108 thousand doses of the coronavirus vaccine from the pharmaceutical company Pfizer will arrive in the country on the afternoon of this Tuesday, June 22, 2021, according to the announcement by the Minister of Health Ximena Garzón.

This morning during a conversation with the media, the official assured that there are no problems with the supply of second doses of this vaccine in vaccination centers nationwide; despite the claims and complaints registered days ago on social networks.

Likewise, Garzón assured that in July and August more shipments of vaccines will arrive with which Ecuador has negotiations such as Sinovac, Pfizer, AstraZeneca and CanSino.

Regarding the negotiations with the Government of Russia, for the reception of its Sputnik V vaccine, the minister reported that the response from that country is awaited, to know the arrival dates of the batches with the doses of the drug.

On the other hand, the Secretary of State explained that as more vaccines arrive in Ecuador, the age range will be expanded and mass vaccination will begin, for which vaccination points will be implemented in parking lots, universities and pharmacies.
