Ecuador registers 543 new infections and 11 more deaths in the last 24 hours. This Tuesday, June 22, 2021, the country has a total of 447,176 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 21,315 deaths due to the pandemic.
According to the report of the Ministry of Health, 15,722 people died with a positive diagnosis and 5,593 died with suspicion of carrying the respiratory virus.
Hospital occupancy registers a new daily decline. This Tuesday, there are 1,094 internees: 648 are stable and 446 with a reserved prognosis. It is one of the lowest hospitalization figures since last year. However, there is still 100% occupancy of the beds in Intensive Care Units (ICU), with waiting lists that exceed 100 people.
Since the pandemic began, the country has 415,508 recovered patients, representing 93.07% of the total infected. In the last week, June 14-20, there were 7,996 more people who overcame the disease.
