Ecuador registers 192 new infections and 11 more deaths in the last 24 hours. This Monday, June 21, 2021, the country has 446,633 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 21,304 deaths due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the report of the Ministry of Health, 15,713 people died with a positive diagnosis and 5,591 died with suspicion of carrying the respiratory virus.
Hospital occupancy is slightly reduced, but beds in Intensive Care Units (ICU) are still 100% full, with more than 100 people on the waiting list. This Monday, there are 1,142 internees: 689 are stable and 453 with a reserved prognosis.
The positivity of contagion in Pichincha fell this week from 31% to 29%, Manabí from 28% to 27%, Loja from 37% to 34%. While provinces such as Azuay and Pastaza rise from 36% to 38%, Carchi from 33% to 34%.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the country has registered 415,508 recovered patients, representing 93.07% of the total infected. In the last week, June 14-20, there were 16,863 more people who overcame the disease.
