In Ecuador the vaccination plan continues with problems

Despite the fact that the Minister of Health, Ximena Garzón, assured that there are sufficient doses of the Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Sinovac vaccines against the coronavirus, the complaints about the lack of doses at the vaccination points in Quito do not stop.

New complaints, disorder and inconveniences were registered during the vaccination day against the coronavirus, this Thursday, June 17, at inoculation points such as at the Miguel de Santiago School, at the Provincial Council School, at the Luciano Andrade Marín Educational Unit and at the Don Bosco College, to the south and north of the capital respectively.

In the Provincial Council College of Pichincha, the people who were summoned for today complained about the lack of doses since they indicated that the formulas were finished yesterday, so they were rescheduled for today.

In the Miguel de Santiago Educational Unit the complaints were the same. People who had scheduling for today, lined up from 05:00, because yesterday in this immunization center the doses were also finished.

The panorama was the same, in the morning hours, in the Don Bosco School, in which inconveniences were registered since according to the citizens, it was reported that there were only 180 doses of Pfizer vaccines, for the second application; however, hundreds of people arrived to receive this vaccine.

The inconveniences are repeated these days, after last week the same claims were generated in different immunization centers in the capital.

Regarding these events, the Minister of Health explained that it is due to the lack of “vaccine stock”, however, she indicated that when this type of inconvenience is reported, the vaccination centers are supplied with more doses.
