Ecuador receives new shipment with 108,820 doses of Pfizer vaccine

A new batch arrived with 108,820 doses of Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine, as part of the agreement between this pharmaceutical company with the Ecuadorian government for a total of six million doses.

The shipment arrived at the Mariscal Sucre airport in Quito, and is the sixteenth delivery by the US laboratory.

The formulas are added to the 1,209,849 doses that Ecuador has received from this pharmaceutical company, since the beginning of the vaccination process, last January.

The vaccines will be used in the current Phase 1 of the restructured 9/100 Vaccination Plan, with which the Government promised to inoculate 9 million people in 100 days.

In the current process, people over 65 are being immunized; people from 50 to 64 years old with serious conditions, disability and chronic diseases; as well as personnel from strategic sectors and laggards.

According to the Ministry of Health, to date, a total of 2,665,806 doses have been applied throughout the national territory.
