Ecuador registers 432,985 cases of COVID-19 and 20,831 deaths

Ecuador registers 246 new infections and 17 more deaths in the last 24 hours. This Tuesday, June 8, 2021, the country has 432,985 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 20,831 deaths due to the pandemic.

According to the latest report from the Ministry of Health, 15,303 people died with a positive diagnosis and 5,528 with suspicion of carrying the respiratory virus.

Hospital occupancy has dropped slightly, after a peak in April and May of this year that exceeded 2,000 hospitalized daily. This Tuesday, there are 1,294 patients: 806 are stable and 488 with a reserved prognosis. While 43 more people were discharged from hospital.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the country has reported 398,645 recovered patients, representing 92.20% of the total infected.

While the number of vaccinated, until June 7, nationwide is 2,717,072 people: 1,825,096 received the first vaccine and 891,976 received the two doses.
