700 thousand doses of the Chinese Sinovac vaccine will arrive in the country this Saturday, May 29, 2021, as part of Ecuador’s negotiations with the Chinese Government.
Of this total, 200,000 are donations, while the remaining 500,000 are vaccines already purchased by the national government.
Yesterday, the president, Guillermo Lasso, held a meeting with the Chinese ambassador to Ecuador, Chen Guoyou, in which the delivery of this new batch of vaccines was made official.
The president announced that another half a million doses of this same pharmaceutical will arrive in Ecuador next June.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Health confirmed that from this Monday, May 31, the new vaccination plan against Covid-19 begins, called 9/100, in relation to Guillermo Lasso’s promise to vaccinate 9 million people in 100 days.
The State portfolio reported that for this new process a computer system developed with the National Electoral Council (CNE) will be used, which will allow citizens to know the place and date of immunization, through a link.
According to Health, at the moment the country has 170,820 doses of Pfizer, which arrived last Tuesday, May 25, at the Mariscal Sucre airport in Quito.
