Information on the new vaccination plan will be known through applications, links and purchase invoices in Ecuador

The vaccination plan of the new Government already gives signs of how it will proceed from next May 31.

Through purchase invoices, applications and links, the place of vaccination against Covid-19 will be known. The objective is to avoid the crowds that currently appear in the sites designated for this work, since there will no longer be scheduling of appointments because all people will be pre-scheduled.

There will also be a computer platform to find out how the process is progressing, vaccinometers or vaccine recorders.

The Minister of Health, Ximena Garzón, explained that one of the mechanisms will be the use of a link. That is, each person will enter the link, enter their identification number and then the information on where they have to go to get vaccinated and the time they must attend will appear.

With regard to people who are not on the electoral roll, she said that a link would be enabled so that they can register. In the case of persons deprived of liberty, they would go to the same centers of deprivation of liberty to be inoculated.

Garzón thanked the National Electoral Council (CNE) for the support to make the electoral registry available to the government plan, which would be called the vaccination registry.

Electoral councilor José Cabrera commented that the registry is the database of the polling stations and added that it will have the CNEApp mobile application.

That application would include the electoral address, the province, the canton, the parish, the enclosure and the date on which the person has to come to be vaccinated.

The official said that the vaccination date will be assigned by the Ministry of Health (MSP) and would be tied to the stock of vaccines that the country has.

Meanwhile, Garzón indicated that they have worked with experts from the Ministry of Public Health (MSP) and an application that was current and integrated into the electoral body system.

She revealed that technological equipment that is used in the electoral process has been requested to carry out the vaccination process. The electoral body has 3,000 computers.

In the last elections, 4,276 polling places were used and the CNE has a database of people who voted at home, who would be vaccinated at home.

According to the electoral councilor Enrique Pita, this weekend the electoral precincts that will be used for the inoculation process will be evaluated.

Likewise, he pointed out that they are working on the application that can be used so that citizens, either through the website or through smart cell phones, can find out what the vaccination schedule is.

The counselor mentioned that for them some 2,000 polling stations are suitable, but initially 317 will be used, which will be added to all the vaccination points that have been operating in the previous administration of the Ministry of Health.

The previous Government would have contracted 22 million vaccines and 2,575,389 doses would have arrived in Ecuador between January and May 23.

Pita added that the information of the identification numbers is being delivered to sales companies, so that the place where the person is to be vaccinated and the expected date appear on their invoices.

“It all depends on the number of vaccines and when they arrive. For the vote there were 350 citizens per table. This vaccination is going to take longer, they take their vital signs before, after the vaccination we have to wait to see if there is any reaction (…) It is a different issue from the vote, we cannot say that they will be x number of citizens per precinct ”, stated Cabrera.

Last Tuesday, President Guillermo Lasso reported that 700,000 doses of the Sinovac vaccine will arrive until Saturday, May 29, 500,000 pending prior agreements and 200,000 donated.
