(Prensa Latina) Bolivia’s deputy ministry of Foreign Trade and Integration, Benjamin Blanco, informed on Tuesday that the Government had acquired 2.67 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines, thus rejecting information that discredited that figure.
On his Twitter account, Blanco explained that 1.76 million doses of vaccines are the first dose, enough to cover 25 percent of the population apt to be immunized (7.18 million people).
By providing figures, the deputy minister responded to what he described as deceitful statements on that issue by some lawmakers. He provided a detailed report of the number of vaccines received so far, the pharmaceutical companies that produce them and the level of coverage in the country, among other details.
Meanwhile, the Luis Arce Government and the Ministry of Health are carrying out a mass vaccination plan against Covid-19 that started with the immunization of the front-line health personnel, followed by vulnerable citizens.
