(Prensa Latina) Former Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva would surpass President Jair Bolsonaro in the first ballot and run-off for October 2022 elections, a survey by the Datafolha company reported today.
Lula da Silva, founder of Workers’ Party (PT), would reach 41% of votes in the first ballot, compared to 23% for Bolsonaro.
For the run-off, Lula would win by 55% to 32%, according to a sampling rolled out on May 11 and 12, with 2,071 people questioned and a 2% margin of error.
The survey, conducted in 146 municipalities, found that Bolsonaro has more rejection among possible candidates, with 54% against 36%.
Regarding the votes, Lula recently made a five-day visit to Brasilia in order to reestablish ties with political forces.
