100,620 doses of Pfizer’s vaccine arrived in Ecuador

On the afternoon of May 4, 2021, a new batch with 100,620 doses of Pfizer vaccine arrived at the Mariscal Sucre airport in Quito.

This is the thirteenth shipment from this pharmaceutical company to arrive in the country and so far, only 1 million 359 thousand 810 doses have arrived from the US pharmaceutical company, as part of the agreement of six million negotiated.

The Health Minister, Camilo Salinas, and the Zonal 8 coordinator, Jonathan Guacho, were present at the site. Salinas explained that 10,000 doses of this batch will be sent to Galapagos, to finish inoculating 100% of the population of this province.

In addition, the head of this State portfolio announced that they have extended to 28 days, the time to apply the second doses of vaccines against Covid-19, according to the official, “to have better planning, according to the arrival of dose”.
