From Friday, April 30 to Sunday, May 2, Ecuador increased 6,610 COVID-19 infections in these three days amidst confinement.
This Monday, Ecuador registers 747 new infections and 25 more deaths in the last 24 hours, with which the country reports 388,046 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 18,765 deaths due to the pandemic.
The level of positivity has increased in several provinces compared to the previous week, despite the fact that in some provinces the state of exception applies:
Pichincha rises from 40% to 41%, Esmeraldas from 43% to 48%, El Oro rises from 41% to 43%, while provinces in which the state of exception does not apply also reflects an increase in positivity such as Napo, which it went from 36% to 46% and Pastaza from 46% to 51%.
Hospital occupancy has not been reduced at the national level either and this Monday marks 12 days with more than 2,000 patients a day. Today, 2,021 internees are registered: 1,404 are stable and 617 with a reserved prognosis.
While the number of recovered patients is 329,582, which represents 85.10% of the total infected. In the last week, from April 26 to May 2, there were 10,983 more people who overcame the disease.
