The authorities report that dozens of buildings have collapsed and there are also 3 people injured.
This Wednesday, March 3, 2021, a 6.3 earthquake was registered in central Greece, with an epicenter 22 kilometers west-northwest of the city of Larissa. The first reports from the authorities speak of dozens of landslides and several injuries.
The European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) confirmed that the earthquake was at a depth of 10 kilometers and the first reported magnitudes ranged from 5.9 to 6.9.
Several buildings collapsed trapping people, but rescue teams have managed to save several citizens; however, a man was rushed to the hospital after being hit on his head by several blocks.
The towns of Mesojori, with 551 inhabitants, and Damasi, with 1,380 inhabitants, close to the place of the epicenter, reported the collapse of several buildings, however, no fatalities or injuries were recorded.
The earthquake was felt throughout Greece and was also reported in the cities of North Macedonia, Kosovo, and Montenegro.
