This Wednesday, February 10, 2021, two strong tremors of 5.6 and 4.7 degrees on the Ritcher scale, with an epicenter in the Pacific Ocean, surprised the citizens of El Salvador, there were no material damages or fatalities.
The first 5.6-degree earthquake had a local depth of 43 kilometers and occurred at 2:47 a.m., the Salvadoran authorities reported. The epicenter of this earthquake was off the coast in the department of La Paz, 100 kilometers from San Salvador.
Five minutes after the first earthquake, another 4.7-degree earthquake was recorded with a depth of 20.6 kilometers in the same coastal area of La Paz.
The authorities of El Salvador called on citizens to remain calm and follow the information through all official channels, the reports confirm that there is no fatality to regret or any material damage.
