This February 22, 2021, Prime Minister Boris Johnson confirmed that from May 17, around 10.000 people will be able to enter sports venues.
Everything indicates that the Premier League final would be played with the public and the other matches would be behind closed doors as it has been since the Covid-19 pandemic began.
According to Johnson, this project aims to lift all restrictions until June 21, since in that month the European Championship is played. In the capital of England 7 games will be played, 3 in the group stage, one in the quarterfinals, the two semi-finals and the final.
For events held indoors, the maximum capacity will be 1.000 spectators, while stadiums that do not meet the designation of large venues will be capped at 4.000 people.
On June 28, the day the restrictions should be lifted, Wimbledon will also open, as the United Kingdom has worked to have events with a small audience.
All these measures taken by the prime minister are subject to a plan, this is because 17 million inhabitants have already received the first dose of the vaccine against the virus.
