Ecuador registers 275.780 cases of COVID-19 and 15.567 deaths

News Point. Ecuador reports 812 new infections and 20 more deaths in the last 24 hours. This Tuesday, February 23, 2021, the country has 275.780 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 15.567 deaths due to the pandemic.

According to the latest report from the Ministry of Health, 10.826 people died with a positive diagnosis and 4.741 died with suspicion of carrying the respiratory virus.

This Tuesday, the country registers 738 stable hospitalized patients and 494 with a reserved prognosis. In total, there are 1.232 interned in one day. While 101 more people were discharged from hospital. In Guayaquil and Quito, the Intensive Care Units (ICU) work at the limit of their capacity.

Since the pandemic began, Ecuador has reported 238.817 recovered patients, which represents 86.95% of all infections. The indicator is updated every week. Between February 15 and 21, there were 8.440 more people who overcame the disease.
