The director of the CNE of Manabí resigns a few days before the general elections elections in Ecuador

The provincial director of the National Electoral Council (CNE) of Manabí, Carlos Chávez, resigned from his position a few days before the general elections on February 7, 2021.

In a plenary session of the CNE this Tuesday, January 26, the councilors accepted the resignation presented by Chávez.

Unanimously, the electoral body appointed Julio Yépez as the new director of the provincial electoral delegation in Manabí. Yépez, according to local media, had been performing the position of Provincial Director of Electoral Processes.

In this session there were also changes in the members of the Provincial Electoral Boards of some provinces. The councilors appointed Silvana Hidalgo as Member of the Provincial Electoral Board of Santo Domingo and thanked Alexandra Calazacón for the services.

They also appointed Juan Fernando Briones as Member of the Provincial Electoral Board of Los Ríos, after hearing the resignation of Jennifer Bastidas.
