Ecuador registers 199.228 cases of COVID-19 and 13.814 deaths

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the country reports 174.188 recovered patients, which represents 87.97% of the total infected.

Ecuador reports 476 new infections and 20 more deaths in the last 24 hours. This December 9, 2020, the country has 199.228 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 13.814 deaths due to the pandemic.

According to the Ministry of Health, 9.295 people died with a positive diagnosis. Added to this figure are the 4.519 deaths that were probably caused by the respiratory virus.

At the national level, there are 489 stable hospitalized patients and 348 with a reserved prognosis. In total, there are 837 interned in one day. While 27 more people were discharged from hospital.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Ecuador has registered 174.188 recovered patients, which represents 87.97% of the total infected. In the week of November 30 to December 6, there were 4.384 more people who overcame the disease.

Pichincha has 100 new infections and seven more deaths in the last 24 hours. The province, the epicenter of the pandemic in the country, reports a total of 71.124 diagnosed with the new coronavirus and 2.276 deaths. Quito adds 95 new infections and the total number of infected in the Ecuadorian capital rises to 65.512.
