State authorities ordered the closure of some beaches and Covid-19 testing centers, due to the arrival of the cyclone.
This Monday, November 9, 2020, tropical storm Eta made landfall in the state of Florida, reported the United States National Hurricane Center. The climatic phenomenon arrives with winds exceeding 105 kilometers per hour and dangerous storm surges.
The US authorities ordered the closure of several beaches and also that of Covid-19 test centers, due to the considerable increase in rains and floods in some sectors. Eta arrives in North America after leaving more than a hundred deceased in Central America and Mexico.
The state of Florida has not yet been able to recover from the heavy rains it faced last October and, according to meteorologists, ETA could worsen the situation in several towns that were already flooded.
Miami-Date and Broward counties continue to have very high levels of water, despite all attempts to drain it. Another 21.000 homes and business premises are still without some power supply.
