Gustavo Petro leads results in voting intention in Colombia

According to the national pollster Invamer, Gustavo Petro is followed by Sergio Fajardo, with 20.5 percent.

The Colombian pollster Invamer published a study this Thursday which shows that the presidential candidate for the Human Colombia Movement, Gustavo Petro leads with 25 percent the intention to vote for the 2022 general elections.

The survey also informs that the representative of the Compromiso Ciudadano party, Sergio Fajardo is positioned with 20.5 percent. In turn, Vice President Marta Lucía Ramírez occupies third place with 18.7 percent, followed by liberal Juan Manuel Galán with 7.2 percent.

According to the report, 37.4 percent of Colombian citizens determined that they would vote in the presidential elections if they were next Sunday. This figure had a reduction of almost six percentage points with respect to the results of the same survey carried out by Invamer last August.

The investigation also determined that 51.9 percent of the Colombian population disapproves of the management of the nation’s president, Iván Duque, compared to an acceptance level of 43.6 percent.

In addition, about 70 percent of those surveyed indicated that Colombia is going “on the wrong track”, compared with 29.9 percent of people who believe that the country is heading on “a good track.”
