Ecuador registers 188.138 cases of COVID-19 and 13.316 deaths

An increase in hospital occupancy is reported. There are 817 internees, while 33 more people were discharged from hospital.

Ecuador registers 908 new infections and 28 more deaths in the last 24 hours. This November 26, 2020, the country has 188.138 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 13.316 deaths due to the pandemic.

According to the Ministry of Health, 8.891 people died with a positive diagnosis. Another 4.425 died suspected of carrying the respiratory virus.

In total, there are 473 stable hospitalized patients in the country and 344 with a reserved prognosis. In one day, 817 internees were reported. While 33 more people were discharged from hospital.

Since the start of the pandemic, 164.009 patients have recovered, which represents 88.35% of the total infected. This indicator is updated every Sunday. In the past week, 3.370 more people overcame the disease.

Pichincha registers 252 new infections and two more deaths in the last 24 hours. The province, the epicenter of the pandemic in the country, has a total of 67.716 diagnosed with the new coronavirus and 2.140 deaths.

Quito adds 228 more infected and amounts to 62.305 cases in the Ecuadorian capital, followed by Rumiñahui with 2.540 infected, Mejía 1.376, Cayambe 796, Pedro Moncayo 194, San Miguel de los Bancos with 184, Puerto Quito with 168 and Pedro Vicente Maldonado with 153 cases.
