Ecuador’s Minister of Health blames doctors for spreading the coronavirus

The Minister of Health of Ecuador indicated that most of the doctors infected and died by the coronavirus, contracted it within the social sphere.

Ecuador’s Minister of Health, Juan Carlos Zeballos, blamed doctors on Tuesday for spreading the coronavirus in hospitals and assistance centers during the pandemic.

According to Zeballos, most of the health professionals infected and deceased by the coronavirus, contracted it within the social sphere and added that these doctors and nurses took the virus to hospitals.

The latest balance of the Ecuadorian Ministry of Health in the last 24 hours registered 1.014 new cases and 14 deaths from coronavirus.

With these new figures, the total number of infections rose to 163.192 and the number of deaths increased to 12.588 throughout the country since the start of the pandemic.

Recovered patients amount to 141.759 and represent 87.7 percent of the total infected.

Pichincha is the region most affected by coronaviru with 636 new cases for a total of 56.134 infections.

Quito is the city with the greatest impact and the epicenter of Covid-19, with records of 571 new patients and a cumulative 51.666 cases.
