If the resources reach local governments, it means public works, job creation, meeting the demands of citizens, added Paola Pabón.
The head of the Provincial Government of Pichincha, Paola Pabón, pointed out that the Prefectures are concerned because so far the Government has transferred the resources to be able to work, which means that the debt with these Institutions reaches USD600 million.
“We cannot serve the population without resources.”
Pabón indicated that the Ministry of Finance has not even informed the Prefectures of how much the cut planned for 2021 will be, which still complicates the work since it cannot be planned in works and prioritize.
She regretted that the Executive does not have the understanding that the resources are not for the prefects but for the population because it means public works, job creation and attention to their demands.
Documentary “I knew they were coming for us”
The prefect invited the residents of southern Quito to launch the documentary “I knew they were coming for us” in the IESS-FUT sector, which will serve to remember what the political persecution was and the moments of violence that the population lived in October 2019.
“This case touches me personally, my family experienced what is the judicialization of politics.”
