Argentina rejects comments from Bolivia’s de facto president at the UN

The Argentine Foreign Ministry regretted that Áñez has insisted on trying to involve the Argentine government, in the middle of the electoral campaign in Bolivia.

The Argentine government rejected this Wednesday the statements of the de facto president of Bolivia, Jeanine Áñez, in her speech to the 75th United Nations General Assembly.

Through a statement, the Argentine Foreign Ministry regretted that Áñez “has insisted on trying to involve the Argentine government, in full electoral campaign, in the internal politics of Bolivia.”

“We hope you can focus your energy on holding the free and transparent presidential elections on October 18,” concludes the document from the Ministry of Relations.

The de facto president accused this country of supporting an alleged ‘violent conspiracy by Evo Morales against Bolivian democracy from Argentine soil’ while pointing out the Executive of Alberto Fernández of offering impunity to the indigenous leader, whom he classified as a former dictator and accused him of various crimes.
