CNE registers objections against presidential binomials

Unes and Creo candidates were objected. The CNE affirms that the right to defense will be guaranteed.

The secretary of the National Electoral Council, Santiago Vallejo, reported that the presidential binomials of the Union for Hope (Unes) coalition and Creo-PSC were challenged.

Vallejo indicated that once the registration of candidacies is made, they can be objected, as established by the Code of Democracy.

The official mentioned that the electoral body guarantees the right to defense of political organizations, within the terms established in the norm.

The United Ecuadorian movement objected to the pair Andrés Arauz – Rafael Correa, of Unes. This political organization was created by Edwin Moreno, brother of the President of the Republic, Lenín Moreno.

Meanwhile, Unes objected to the binomial Guillermo Lasso – Alfredo Borrero, from Creo-PSC.
