In addition, there are 7.375 deaths with a positive prognosis and 3.796 deaths that are suspected of being due to the disease.
The number of daily infections remained at an average of 1.200, with the lowest peak recorded on September 21, when there were 292 new infections, and the highest peak of 1.872 on September 18.
The increase occurs 10 days after the State of Exception ended, on September 13, which eliminated the restriction on mobility (curfew) and meetings.
Regarding the hospitalized people, 692 are stable and 360 with a reserved prognosis. In total, there are 1.052 hospitalized patients. While there was an increase of 461 people who were discharged from hospital.
From the beginning of the pandemic until Sunday, September 20, 102.852 recovered patients were reported, representing 81.36% of the total infected. Every Sunday this indicator is updated with an average of 5.000 people who overcome the disease weekly.
Pichincha registers 1.568 new infections and 18 more deaths in the last 24 hours. The most affected province in the country has a total of 35.515 cases of COVID-19 and 1.578 deaths. Quito adds 1.502 infected and amounts to 32.543 cases in the Ecuadorian capital.
